Is it worth having a second IVF cycle after 3 attempts from the first one on a women over age 35?
Multiple IVF cycles can certainly be very stressful and challenging. However, we do still see many patients successfully conceive even after 3 previous embryo transfers. The overall chances of a pregnancy are dependent on the age of the woman and the underlying diagnosis. It is also very helpful to review the details from the 1st IVF cycle because there may be useful information to share. Although you had a miscarriage, we can feel encouraged that implantation did occur and this increases the odds that it may happen again. Remember that a visit with me to discuss the specifics of your history does not cost you anything – it is covered by health care!
What are the odds for a women over age 35 to conceive with IVF, who has had kids in the past, but has had a tubal ligation performed.
The pregnancy rates with IVF will differ significantly depending on the exact age of the woman and additional factors in a couple’s history. They may range from 30% (age 39-40) to 50% (age 35-37) chance of pregnancy with the initial treatment cycle. Please feel free to arrange a consultation so you can discuss the options for your specific situation. This visit will be covered by MSP.
We’re a couple in our late 30's are we able to use IVF, or is it too late? I had a tubal 15 yrs ago.
It is certainly not too late to consider IVF. Although a woman’s age has a significant impact on her fertility, many couples do conceive especially if they are otherwise healthy and have proven past fertility. There are many factors that can affect your chances of success and further testing may help you to make a decision. Please feel free to arrange a consultation so you can discuss the options for your specific situation. This visit will be covered by MSP.
